Job description
Design for Manufacture Input at all Stages of Design.
Optimum Processes and Material Type Selection (Bar, Casting, Moulding etc.).
Cost Impacts of Tolerances and Geometrical Features.
General Manufacturability considerations.
Develop a close working relationship across multi-departments / multi-sites.
Work closely with Purchase team members and fully approved prototype part manufacturers.
Carry out necessary Investigations and Analysis.
Contribute to the review & validation of all mechanical designs of dedicated groups.
Profile
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Design environment.
Minimum 1 year experience of operating SolidWorks (or similar 3D CAD system).
High level skills in the use of Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of Rapid Prototyping techniques and Electro Mechanical products would be an advantage.
Understanding of engineering and design principals.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly methods.
Excellent team working skills.
Strong problem solving skills.
